EPIDIOLEX® (cannabidiol) Oral Solution – the First FDA-approved Plant-derived Cannabinoid Medicine – Now Available by Prescription in the U.S.

GW Pharmaceuticals plc (Nasdaq: GWPH, “GW,” “the Company” or “the Group”), announced today that EPIDIOLEX® (cannabidiol) oral solution CV is now available in the U.S. for the treatment of seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) or Dravet syndrome in patients two years of age or older.

Ascent Announces Launch of Global Hemp Strategy

The Company’s wholly owned operating subsidiaries in Oregon and Nevada are legally permitted to handle hemp and are presently selling CBD-based products in those jurisdictions. When the Hemp Farming Act has been passed into law, Thirty Eight Hemp Co. plans to produce and distribute CBD and other hemp derived products throughout the United States and abroad, which will significantly expand the Company’s hemp distribution.

DEA takes CBD off Schedule 1 – with FDA’s approval

A Schedule 5 drug is still illegal without a prescription. The DEA says Schedule 5 drugs have a low potential for abuse and are generally pain relievers and antidiarrheal medications. Other Schedule 5 drugs include Lyrica and prescription-strength Robitussin with codeine.
